Brogopogo is a handcrafted beard oil produced in Penticton, BC by owner, Mathew Crawford. Mathew won a beard competition in 2019 and during the pandemic he found ample time at home to craft the best oil for his prized mane.

For the branding, I wanted to use the dark water of Okanagan Lake from where the legendary serpent “Ogopogo” hails. The serpent needed to be the brand’s mascot and so I gave him some killer shades and a dope beard. Mat wanted it to have a pirate feel without using the cliche old paper and English script font. I was able to create a logomark that would look just as good on a bottle of rum as it does on an oil dropper. Since the bottles are fairly small in size, the logo had to work on a small scale and for that reason, the logo has more simple edges and fewer flourishes. The final design has great elements that can be used together as well as individually.
