Project Summary

Brogopogo is a handcrafted beard oil produced in Penticton, BC by owner, Mathew Crawford. Mathew won a beard competition in 2019 and during the pandemic he found ample time at home to craft the best oil for his prized mane.

For the branding, I wanted to use the dark water of Okanagan Lake from where the legendary serpent “Ogopogo” hails. The serpent needed to be the brand’s mascot and so I gave him some killer shades and a dope beard. Mat wanted it to have a pirate feel without using the cliche old paper and English script font. I was able to create a logomark that would look just as good on a bottle of rum as it does on an oil dropper. Since the bottles are fairly small in size, the logo had to work on a small scale and for that reason, the logo has more simple edges and fewer flourishes. The final design has great elements that can be used together as well as individually. If I could grow a beard I would buy gallons of this stuff. It’s that good!
